Cogsy alternatives
Before you compare feature lists, work out whether your ordering problem is demand or freight. That single answer removes most of the list.
If you are leaving Cogsy, the question that decides your replacement is whether you are bad at knowing how much to order, or bad at getting it here. Those are different problems and almost no tool is strong at both. Cogsy's own pricing page, read on 30 August 2026, publishes one plan called All in one at $199/month with a 14-day free trial. Its header also says “Plans Start At $49/Month”, but no $49 plan is detailed in the pricing section, so treat that as a question for their sales team rather than a number you can plan against.
The field, on published facts
Every figure below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, read on 30 August 2026. Where a page does not describe something, the cell says so rather than guessing, because absence from a pricing page is not proof a product lacks a feature.
| Option | Published price | Meter | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stay on Cogsy | $199/mo | Not stated | You use the marketing calendar, subscriptions or backorder features, and Amazon alongside Shopify |
| Shopify's built-in tools | Included | None | You mainly needed purchase orders and transfers, and you are willing to do the sizing yourself |
| Prediko | From $49/mo | Annual GMV | Large catalog, modest revenue, or you need bills of materials or an API |
| Inventory Planner | Not published | Volume of inventory managed | Several warehouses, several channels, or an ERP in the mix |
| Restocio | $149–$299/mo | Catalog size | You import, and the freight decision costs you real money |
Staying is a real option
Switching an ordering tool is not free. You rebuild supplier records, lead times and any history you rely on, and for a month or two you second-guess numbers you used to trust. If what you actually want is a lower bill, ask Cogsy about the $49 figure on their own header before you migrate anything. That is a five-minute email against a fortnight of setup.
Where we fit, and it is narrow
Restocio exists for one shape of business: a Shopify store that imports, where the same order can travel by sea, rail or air and the choice changes both the cost and the arrival date. We split a single order across modes so the air premium is paid only on the units that cannot wait, and we count production time inside the lead time, which is the difference between a deadline you hit and one you miss by a month.
If freight is not a decision you make, that whole capability is worth nothing to you, and one of the tools above is a better use of your money.
What we do not do
Said plainly, because you will find out in week two otherwise. There is no API. There are no bills of materials or raw materials planning. We connect to one Shopify store, so multi-location and multi-channel planning are out. Our entry plan covers 500 products, which is a real constraint if you carry thousands. Prediko's pricing page publishes unlimited SKUs at its entry tier and full API access; Inventory Planner publishes multi-location and a long list of channel and ERP integrations. On those points they are simply ahead of us.
What you rebuild when you move
This is the part nobody quotes you for, and it is the same whichever tool you land on. Budget a week of evenings rather than an afternoon.
- Supplier records. Names, contacts, currencies and payment terms. Usually retyped, because supplier data is the least standardised thing in any of these tools.
- Lead times. The number that decides every order date. Copying the figure you had is a mistake worth avoiding: most stores are carrying a lead time somebody guessed once, and a migration is the natural moment to check it against what your last five deliveries actually took.
- Cost history. What you have paid per unit over time. If it does not come across, your first landed cost calculations in the new tool are built on one data point.
- Open purchase orders. Anything already placed and not yet received has to exist in both systems for the overlap, or your available-to-sell number is wrong in whichever one you trust.
Run both tools in parallel for one ordering cycle before you cancel anything. It costs one extra month of subscription and it is the cheapest insurance available.
How to decide in ten minutes
Look at your last ten purchase orders. If the recurring pain was ordering the wrong quantity, you want the strongest forecasting you can afford, and the price meter decides the rest. If the recurring pain was paying for air on a whole shipment because two products were late, or goods landing three weeks after you needed them, that is the problem we built for.
Common questions
How much does Cogsy cost?
Cogsy's pricing page lists one plan, All in one, at $199 per month with a 14-day free trial, as published on 30 August 2026. The page header also mentions plans starting at $49 per month, but no $49 plan is detailed in the pricing section, so it is worth asking them directly.
Is there a free alternative to Cogsy?
Shopify's own built-in inventory tools are included with your plan and cover purchase orders and transfers. They leave the sizing decision to you, which is the part most paid tools are actually sold on.
What is the closest replacement for Cogsy?
It depends which part of Cogsy you use. For demand planning at a lower entry price, Prediko publishes $49 per month under $100K annual GMV. For multi-channel and multi-warehouse work, Inventory Planner publishes both, though not its prices. Restocio is narrower than all of them and is aimed at importers.
Should I switch at all?
Not automatically. Migrating rebuilds suppliers, lead times and history, and costs you a couple of uncertain months. If the goal is a smaller bill rather than a different capability, ask your current vendor first.

Restocio plans purchasing for Shopify stores that import. It works out what to order, how much, and whether it should travel by sea, rail or air, so you pay air freight only for the units that genuinely cannot wait.
